Planting Tips for Flowering Annuals
The major factor for choosing annuals for your flower garden should be the amount of sunlight the area receives each day. Be sure to take into consideration that light levels and intensity may change from season to season. For example, an area near trees may be quite sunny in the early spring when trees are leafless, but very shaded during the summer.
Look at the new colors and varieties introduced since you last planted your garden. Find out which plants do best in shade, which in sunny areas. Obtain the best fertilizer for the plants of your choice. Take one more mental walk around your garden as you plant this spring - ask yourself: Where is a spot of color needed? Remember, annuals provide a show of color from planting till frost.
